Care & use guide

Hello, this guide is intended to help you keep your hand-painted canvas backdrop in the best possible condition so that it can be used for many years. Our backdrops are made from 100% cotton canvas and professional artist paints. Consider them a unique work of art and please treat them accordingly.

With proper care, normal wear over time will contribute to a beautiful aging process.

Please make sure to unpack and inspect your backdrops immediately upon receipt. Any transport damage must be reported by email within 24 hours of delivery to: hallo@la imitola-backdrops.de

Use

Do not allow your clients, models, or assistants to drag any items, objects, shoes or studio equipment across the backdrop. This could scratch and damage the surface (dark colors are generally more susceptible to this).

Always store the backdrop rolled up. It is best to keep it on a sturdy tube. Do not leave it crumpled in a corner, as this can cause creases that cannot be removed and may permanently damage the paint.

Your backdrop is compatible with UV light and studio lighting.

Test the backdrop with your lighting setup before a session. This is especially important if you are using a canvas backdrop for the first time or if you are working with a dark background.

There is a slight learning curve when working with canvas backdrops, particularly if you normally use light colors and have purchased a dark backdrop or viceversa.

Please note that the backdrops are NOT suitable for any type of photoshoot in which food, drinks or liquids may come into contact with them. This also applies to paint.

Care

Protect your backdrop from prolonged exposure to extreme heat, cold or humidity can damage the paintwork, for example, if you leave it rolled up in your car during the summer months.

If you transport your backdrop in temperatures below 0°C (32°F) and then bring it into a warm space, allow it to acclimate for at least one hour before unrolling it. This helps prevent potential cracking or damage to the painted surface.

Keep a lint roller nearby at all times, as it is ideal for gently removing dust, lint and small debris from the surface. If you notice a spot or need to clean a specific area, carefully wipe it using a clean, slightly damp (not wet) cloth. Avoid rubbing too hard, as this could affect the painted surface.

Keep your backdrop away from food, drinks and any liquids, including paint. Your backdrop canvas is a delicate painted surface and exposure to moisture can cause permanent damage.
